A Touch

(of poetry)

It's rare that I write poetry, though it's not totally unheard of; I'd say on average I write it once a year. But this came to me in the middle of a GChat conversation with Bethany, as I was thinking about the strange qualities and circumstances surrounding love. It's short and I make no claims to its quality, but it seems well-received by the few who have heard it.

For were it the strict realm
of the gods and goddesses,
to favor us with our loves,
and flaunt us with our losses;
would all feelings be decided
without emotions to muster,
and thus predetermined,
lose all their luster.
